What are carcinogens?

Carcinogens are substances that have been directly linked to cancer. It has been known to faciliate the growth of cancer. This kind of substance is found on barbequed, burnt or overcooked food.

Carcinogens such as Heterocyclic Amines (HCA) are produced under high temperature when a chemical reaction occurs between amino acids and creatine found in meats. It can cause stomach, colorectal, pancreatic and breast cancer.

Production of HCA is not only confined to BBQ beef or chicken. It also happen on BBQ pork and fish as well.
