How to remove your make-up properly?

Removing make-up before you sleep is a must for every woman. What will happen if we don't remove our make-up properly? It will clog your face pores and causes white heads and blackheads to occur.

3)Wash it off.
4)Apply your daily cleanser and wash it off again.
5) Apply Toner

Different Ways of reducing your dark eye circles

Dark unsightly eye circles can be very irritating to most women. It can make us look haggard and ugly. In some worse cases, some look like "drug addict". I am glad i don't really have that serious problem. I couldn't imagine a fair person like me with that two dark patches below my eyes would seriously make me look like a panda. Haha.

These are some of the ways that may help:

1) Slice Cucumber or Raw Pototoes and leave it on your eyes for 15-20 mins.

2) Apply some Almond Paste under your eyes for 15 mins.

3) Always put 2 metal spoons in the fridge and have it as great rescuer. Leave it on your eyes for 10 mins. (It is quite effective for puffy eyes)

4) Vitamin E Oil. Apply Vitamin E oil and massage gently on your eyes every morning and night. ( Please note that the application amount should not be more than a tear drop).

5) Take a used chamomile tea bag( if not, any tea bag will do) and leave it for 10 mins.

Beside the above ways, most importantly you should also:

1) have enough sleep

2) Adopt healthier eating habits

3) Drink more water so that your body can detox as some dark eye circles are contributed due to body toxins.

4) Remove your eye make-up especially mascara and eyeliner properly. If you don't do it properly, it will also causes the eye areas to darken.

5) Avoid Sun tanning. Some people thought that sun tanning will help to camoflage the dark eye circles but that is wrong. Instead of helping, it worsen the dark circles.

6) Massage the eye area gently with a good eye cream so that there are proper blood circulation.

My Favourite Perfume

Are you that kind of person who cannot live without perfume? I am one of them. Before i go out, i will definitely spray perfume. I have more than 10 different kinds of perfume at home such as Calvin Klein, Kenzo, Christian Dior, Burberrys and many more... I simply can't live without perfume. If i forgot to spray perfume, i would feel uneasy the whole day as i think spraying perfume is one of my habit.

Number 1 Favourite:
Calvin Klein Euphoria Blossom (MUST TRY)

(Light and Sweet, it is widely accepted by most of the people especially men love the scent)

Number 2 Favourite:
Kenzo Flower
(Light, Crispy and Flowery scent, Great for summer days)

Number 3 Favourite:
Perfume Brit By Burberrys
(Fresh, Feminine and abit sweet)

My perference of scent is light and refreshing. However whenever i go clubbing, i will use Gucci Rush (Very Strong and feminine scent) because of the smoke and alcohol in the club, it definitely can mask those smell. Perfume is also a great idea as a birthday present or christmas present. I wouldn't mine having a new fragrance as a gift. So have you bought your christmas present? Why not try perfume if you run out of ideas.

Secrets Revealed for Eyebrow Shaping

Shaping your brows can be a tricky job. If you just slipped off your hand in that split seconds. Your hair may not grow back. It was about 8 years ago, i accidentally shaved away part of my brow and it left a small part balded. I guessed most of the girls would have attempted to shape their eyebrows themselves at least once in their lifetime. I try my very best to seek the professional in trimming my eyebrows but due to my busy schedules, i often have to rely myself in trimming.

Eyebrows are a very important features on our face. It changes the look on your face too. If you shaped it too slanted up or archy, you may have that fierce look. Hence, shaping it properly placed an important part in brightening our face.

What shapes are you having now?
First, look at the mirror. Are your eyebrows in attractive shape? Have you got it trimmed the last 2 weeks? How does the thickness look like?
1) Look at the eyebrow thickness
2) They should be wider inside and thinner as it is near to the end
3) Start shaping from the Inner towards the end each time.
4) DO NOT Shape your eyebrow too thin. It will make your face look harsh.
5) If this is your first time shaping your eyebrow, i would strongly suggest you to seek the professional and get it done first. Every day or 2, you can tweeze new stray hairs that pop up. This will help your brow to stay in shape for at least 2 to 3 months.

What to do if you already have Thin Eyebrow?
if you have shaped your eyebrow too thin, not too worry. You still can fill them in with powdered eye shadow on the areas that you want to make it look thicker. Wait for your brow to grow before shaping a new one.

What to do if the "Wild hairs" that grow out are longer than the rest?
Even we continue to tweeze our stray hairs every day or 2. Some of your eyebrow hairs will grow longer than the rest especially the edge of the eyebrows Some even curl.
1) Use a eyebrow comb and comb your eyebrow hairs up and trim off the long hair with an eyebrow scissors.
2) Do it slowly. Slide the fine teeth of a comb underneath to lift the hair up and trim off any remaining long hairs.

When is the best time to pluck your eyebrow?
After a shower. Your pores are open up. Apply some vaseline before your pluck. This will minimise the redness. After shaping. You can apply some gel to make the eyebrow looks neater.

What should we consider when buying essential oils?

Are you buying fragrance oil or essential oils? You may know how to choose a good apple but you may not know how to choose an essential oil. You bought an essential oil for only 5 bucks. Could it be real?

Think about why you want to buy essential oils. You want to use it for mixing your facial mask? Aromatherapy purposes ? Alternatives to essential oils such as Hydrosols, Absolutes and Fragrance oils may achieve the needs you want.

For example, Hydrosols(eg: rose water) is essential oil diluted with water. It is always used in the case where dilution is not a problem such as for aromatherapy purposes.

Absolutes are generally highly concentrated essential oils which are extracted with solvents, usually from flowers for which steam distillation is impractical. It can be diluted for the same usage. Using Absolutes is the same as essential oils.

Fragrance oils also known as floral water are usually synthetic compounds which have an aroma similar to essential oils. They are cheaper than essential oils, but are not suitable for therapeutic or culinary uses. Use for soap making, oil burner etc.

These are some of the things that we should take note when buying essential oils:
1) Essential oils are always kept in dark or stainless steel and it should not be put near the sunlight or heat.
2) Beware of essential oils kept in clear glass or plastic.
3) If your essential oils indicate " Do not use neet", "Do not use internally", "Do not use undiluted". Please do not use it for massaging as that means they were petrochemically produced. It can only be used for fragrance purposes.
4)Lower price essential oil mean the oil is a second or third distillation of the plant material, in which case it will have far less therapeutic value.

How to test the purity of your essential oil?
Put a few sample drops of your oils on a blotting paper.Pure essential oils will not leave any residue once they have evaporated. Petroleum solvents will. If it does not leave any residue after it dry up, that means your essential oil is very pure.

What do you know about essential oils?

What is essential oils?

An essential oil is any concentrated, hydrophobic liquid containing volatile aroma compounds from plants, which are called aromatic herbs or aromatic plants. They are also known as volatile or ethereal oils, or simply as the "oil of" the plant material from which they were extracted, such as oil of clove.

Everytime when you light your burner with essential oils, do you know what kind of effect it produces? I personally love the smell of lemongrass and was addicted to that scent for a period of time. I guessed that scent just perks up my day.

Essential Oils are categorized into different grades or quality.
Organic: The plant has been grown organically. Nothing was added during distillation.
Natural Essential Oil: No other plant are added during distillation or after distillation.
Normal/pharmaceutical quality: In this type of oil, other plants can be added during the distillation itself. Other things can also be mixed into the oil after distillation, for example, cheaper oils, hybrid oils.

So each time what kind of grades you buy?

All about cellulite 2

It is tough to eliminate all your cellulite but reducing it shouldn't be any problem if you follow all these steps:

1) Drink about 2 Litre of water every day as water helps to flush out toxin. It helps the body to function more efficiently, increases blood circulation and drainage.

2) Reduced your intake on caffeine products like coffee and alcohol.

3) Exercise more regularly
- 15 mins of aerobic exercise (walking on threadmill, riding a bicycle)
- 15 mins of strength exercise ( carry weight)
- if you want to target on thigh areas, you should do more repetition on leg exercise. (ie: leg lift)
- if you want to target on buttock area, do squats
- Stretching exercise after each set of repetition on thigh or buttock.

4) Proper Diet
Eat more fruits and vegetables to build more fiber and antioxidant nutrients. This can easily sweep away harmful free radicals and toxins. Muscle building and skin firming foods should therefore be eaten regularly to get rid of cellulite on thigh areas. Those foods are those rich in protein and fatty acids. These nutrients can be found in fish, lean meat, nuts, whole grains and beans.

5) Cellulite Cream
With all the proper exercising method, you should also apply cellulite cream daily in the morning and before sleep. Massage on the areas that you want to target for 15 mins.

Building more muscles is the ONLY most effective way to reduce the appearance of cellulite. Although we can't eliminate them but we can make it less obvious.

All about cellulite

Staying Cellulite Free is a tough thing to maintain. A lot of people always have the impression that only fat people have cellulite but the fact is Slim people also have cellulite. Cellulite is also one the biggest problem that majority of the women are facing.

What is Cellulite?
Cellulite is the fatty deposit that give the skin a dimpled surface. It is usually found around the hips, thigh and buttocks area. It is often refer as "orange peel" and "cottage cheese".

What causes Cellulite?
Fibrous strands of tissue connect your skin to deeper tissue layers, creating compartments of ordinary fat cells and when the fat cells increase in size, the compartments bulge and produce the dimpling appearance on your skin.

  • Overweight people ( because of the excess fat in the compartments causing it to bulge out

  • Factors such as older age women, hormones, pregnancy can contribute to the weakening of fiber collagen and this allow the cellulite to appear too.

  • hereditary

  • Continuous of eating without good exercising can leads to poor drainage and circulation. This lead to fats damage that causes cellulite

  • Long hours facing Computer and Sitting down( hence, you must do some stretching)

How long should we keep our makeups?

I was so shocked to know the real answers to all these. I dumped quite a fair bit of my cosmetics today. So how about you? When was the last time you dumped those lipsticks, blushers...? For those cosmetics that did not indicate expiry date, it is best that you jot it down so that you can estimate the lifespan of your cosmetics.

~Lipsticks

So far lipsticks is one of the make-up that have longest life-span. Lipsticks cannot be kept more than 2 years. It is very easy to distinguish when to throw away lipsticks and one should stop using to prevent any side effects. You should stop using the lipstick when it taste or smell waxy.

~Powder

Some as long as three years because most powders don't have water.

~Liquid Foundation/Cream Foundation

One year. If it is unopened, it can be kept for maximum 2 years. If the smell or texture starts to change, it is time to buy a new one.

~Mascara

Mascara have the shortest lifespan. 3months to 6 months. ( I was so sad when i heard this and i dumped quite a few today, heartpain, sobz..sobz). As our eyes are the most delicate and sensitive, so it is best to discard it after 3-6 months because every time when we use the mascara, we are contaminating it because our eyes are warm and wet and this can cause bacteria

~Eye Shadows

A year. 2 years for those unopened. If color or smells change, same thing "Throw away".

~Eye Cream

3 - 6 Months.

So is it time for you to clear your old cosmetics? Get rid of those that you should...

Slimming Methods-(Good Vs Bad)

There are many kind of slimming methods. What are the best ways to slim down? Slimming down to a healthier body is the most important. Before you pop those slimming pills into your mouth, think first.

- Slimming Pills
Slimming Pills normally have side effects. The effect is fast but VERY BAD. For those who had tried slimming pills, did you realise the moment you stop taking those pills, you regain back the weight you lost? Or in worse cases, you became fatter after that. You could have side effect like hyperventilation, fatigue, loss of sleep, bad temper, high blood pressure or heart attack blah blah and so on.

- Vomitting
I know some friends who will dig their throat to vomit out whenever food they had consumed after that. They told me that is to prevent their body from absorbing the fats. By doing that, you are not only refraining your body from intaking the nutrients, you become weak and in any cases, you can get stomach ulcers, dyhydration, ruptures of the stomach, swelling and soreness in throat. YUCKS!

- Laxatives
Continuous of Diarrhoea, this also weaken the body immune systems. Some even hospitalised after that.

- Exercising
Exercising is the BEST FORM of slimming. Although I do agree that alot of people are lazy to exercise including myself. Haha. Exercising makes a person healthier, tone your muscles, burn fats, better stamina and better memory too. It increases one person's blood circulation and helps in better skin condition too. People who have exercising habits tend to look younger too.

- Slimming Salon
I used to work in a Spa and Beauty Salon. Going for slimming sessions does helps but it is expensive. It works ONLY when it is accompanied with sensible diet plan. Some people continue to gorge while they are on their slimming courses and complaint the salon for not doing a good job. *Faints* Weightloss require a strict diet too.... A benefit about slimming courses is it helps to target to areas that you want a better contour because of the slimming machines they have.

I bought too many bottle of pearl powder the other time so I decided to mix it together with Egg White. Haha... If you are generous enough, you can put more pearl powder to mix it less drippy but it is very expensive...

Ingredient:
- 1 Egg White

Skin feel so tight that I cannot even move my mouth when I have the Egg White Mask on. After 20 mins of rescue, I washed it off with lukewarm water. Followed by toner and moisturiser. Amazingly, it tightened the pores and skin feels smoother after one time.

Basic Skincare Regimen

I used to have breakouts on my face and have often been wondering why some ladies on the street have extremely good porcelain skin. It took about 3 years for me to understand the basic steps in taking care of my skin. I often complain the zits on my face and blame the whole world why it is so unfair that i still get breakouts even when i buy expensive products and go for expensive facials that costs about $180 each time. Finally, I stopped complaining ever since i found the right method and that is THE BASIC STEPS TO SKIN CARE....

Basic Steps in taking care of your face: 1+2+3. It is just so simple!!!

1. Cleanse your face twice a day

Cleanse your face with a good cleanser every morning when you wake up. Cleanse thoroughly in gentle circular movement. Remove the cleanser with generous amount of water. Most of the people would stop splashing their face with water once they feel "Clean". However, I would splash my face 3 more times with water after that.

Most of the people after a day of lethargic work are LAZY to clean their face. PLEASE MAKE IT A HABIT to cleanse your face before going to bed. For ladies who put on make up, PLEASE REMEMBER to remove your make-up with a good make-up remover before cleansing. If you don't cleanse your face properly, breakouts will happen and it is.... SCARY...

2. Toner

Relying on a cleanser is still not good enough. How about the stubborn oil or makeup that still can't be removed with cleanser? We need a good Toner. Toner will help to remove excess sebum or trace of make-up on your face. It also helps to tighten your pores after cleansing because our pores will open when we cleanse. Hence, applying a good toner is definitely important. Apply to a perfectly cleanse face using a cotton pad.

3. Moisturise

Some people have been asking questions like "Do I still require a moisturiser because my face is so oily?" The ans is "YES".
Moisturiser helps to keep the skin hydrated and moist so that your skin doesn't need to OVERWORK to produce natural oil. When there is an overproduction of excess oil, acne starts to appear. In order to stay acne free, maintain your skin at the most optimum level with a moisturiser as well so that it stays hydrated. So, PLEASE DO NOT skip the moisturiser. Find a moisturiser that is light and oil free. For people with dry skin, you can go for extra moisturing creams and lotions.

With 3 simple daily steps day and night steps, you can be more BEAUTIFUL.
In my next post, i will share with you about Skin care products, Natural Masks using green tea etc....

Green Tea

Green Tea has always been in the part of my life. I started drinking Green Tea since the age of 13. Infact green tea has become a staple beverage for most Asians.

The first person who founded the benefits of green tea was Chinese Emperor Shen Nung. It was reported to have been boiling water when some leaves of the Cameilia sinensis(herbs extracted from green tea) fell into his pot.

WHY I LOVE DRINKING GREEN TEA?
- Weight Loss
It helps to clear the toxin. It has been found that the EGCG found in green tea diet can increase the metabolism rate in our bodies. I lost about 2 kg when i first started drinking green tea but i guessed results vary. I drink green tea everyday to maintain my figure.

- Control Cholesterol
Survey was conducted on 240 people with mild to extremely high cholesterol levels and after twelve weeks of continuous drinking of green tea, those people dropped 16% in their cholesterol levels. (WOW!!!)

- Fight Cancers
Best of all, Green Tea helps to fight different type of cancers such as stomach cancer, colon cancer, oral, prostate, breast and cervical cancers.

- Make your skin better
If you are prone to acne breakdown, PLEASE make it a habit to drink green tea. Due to toxins acumulation in our body, pollution and stress. Our skin start to dehydrate and get breakouts. By drinking green tea not only helps to protect the skin from damage due to ultraviolet light radiation but also aids in acne breakout by flushing out the toxins in our body.
